And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
On this day hundreds of years ago God Himself entered our world to meet with us and to be the Saviour of the human race. He came to us as a baby – vulnerable, shamed by the gossip surrounding His very existence, His life under threat, and was born in the dirt and squalor of a borrowed stable because He loves us so much he wants to draw us back to Him.
In this broken world today, the Birth of a Saviour continues to bring joy to the lives of people who turn and follow him. As Christians we should let this joy penetrate our everyday lives. We have a hope that is steadfast and certain, we’ve found fulfilment in the Bethlehem babe. May this unfathomable joy be our strength this Christmas!
Happy Birthday Jesus. We give you all the glory and praise!
